The first session is a chance for both of you to share what brings you in and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll ask questions to learn more about your relationship, the patterns you’ve noticed, and what feels most important to work on together. You’ll also have time to ask questions and get a sense of how I approach couples work.
There’s no expectation to have everything figured out. The first session is about creating a comfortable space, gaining understanding, and outlining a direction that feels clear and supportive for both of you. In the sessions that follow, we’ll take time to explore your current patterns and communication styles, understand how they developed, and begin learning new ways to strengthen trust, empathy, and connection over time.
