About Brayden Hanks, AMFT | Male Therapist in Nashville
ASSOCIATE MARRIAGE AND FAMILY THERAPIST
Helping men in Nashville with anxiety, burnout, recovery, and relationship stress
For men who appear steady on the outside — but feel the pressure building underneath.
Most guys who find their way here are doing well by most measures — career moving, responsibilities handled, life looking intact from the outside.
But something underneath isn't adding up. The anxiety doesn't fully quiet. The same conflict cycle keeps coming back. There's a low-grade sense of being stuck or misaligned that's hard to name but hard to ignore.
I have sat with a lot of guys in that exact spot. And what I've found is that the ones who make real progress aren't necessarily the most motivated — they're just willing to talk about and look honestly at what's actually happening.
My approach is direct and structured. We don't just process what happened this week — we look at what's underneath it, build practical tools, and track whether things are actually shifting. The goal is change that holds in real life, not just clarity in the room.
If any of this sounds familiar, a free 15-minute call is a good place to start.
Sessions are available in person in Nashville or online across Tennessee.
Tuesday through Friday, 8AM–6PM.

a little about me
Before becoming a therapist, I have spent nearly a decade in healthcare — Cardiovascular Surgery, Burn, and COVID ICUs. High stakes, high pressure, no room for error.
What I kept seeing was that the most capable people in the room were often the ones quietly carrying the most. Showing up for everyone else, holding it together — and not saying a word about what it was costing them.
That's a big part of why I do this work. I understand high-functioning pressure from the inside out.
I grew up in Memphis, moved to Nashville in 2020, and have built my life and work here. Outside the office, I'm usually with my wife — ski trips, national parks, trying to find good coffee. I grew up racing dirt bikes and still get out on a mountain bike when I can. I'm a simple-things guy: good conversations, game nights, time around a fire with people I care about.
If you're on the fence about reaching out, that's completely normal. A 15-minute call costs nothing and doesn't commit you to anything.
